John Denver, a singer-songwriter of Colorado that specialized in folk music, has touched the hearts of millions. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He was enthralled by Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. Denver's iconic anthems for Colorado are a source of inspiration for many to make the move to Colorado. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame says that John Denver is unlike any other performer who has the recognizable image of Colorado. Denver was inducted into the Hall of Fame as its the first member in 2011. He is now the symbol of Colorado to people around the world. On my journeys around the world, I have met many individuals who do not hail from Colorado. They will beg, "Oh John Denver!" whenever they learn that you're from Colorado. Brown declared. Denver's debut Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a short career performing in small folk music groups comprised of Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the tune for Johnny Cash but Denver recognized the potential of the single the moment he heard it for the first time. The song was recorded a couple of days after playing in Washington D.C. before an audience that was very enthusiastic.
