John Denver is a popular musician and singer who has been able to touch many by his lyrics. Many of these were inspired by Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born Henry John Deutschedorf in Roswell located in the state of New Mexico,, was in Love with Colorado. The place he settled was Aspen. Denver's national anthems to his adopted state have drawn many to Colorado. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame says that John Denver is unlike any other performer who has the recognizable image of Colorado. In 2011 Denver was named the Hall of Fame's very first inductee. He is now the international face of Colorado. When I travel, you will meet people on opposite sides of the world. For example an individual who is from New Zealand. And when someone asks you if you're originally from Colorado the response is "Oh John Denver!" Brown clarified. Take Me Home Country Roads, co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief time as a folk musician which was Denver's first Top 10 solo hit. Danoff had written the song inspired by Johnny Cash, but Denver was able to hear an early version of the song and realized it would become an instant hit in the top 10. The track was released just several weeks after it was performed in Washington D.C. performance.
